Macedon Ranges council chief executive Margot Stork has handed in her resignation, three years into a four-year contract.

Ms Stork was appointed to the council in November 2017. In a statement, she said she was proud of her many achievements while leading the council for three years.

Mayor Janet Pearce said the council appreciated the energy, commitment and focused work performed by Ms Stork during her time in council.

“We acknowledge Ms Stork’s leadership as a true innovative and progress thinker,” she said.

“She is respected across the region at all levels of government and has inspired many in the sector.

“Ms Stork has reshaped the council to be a stronger organisation looking to the future, and the breadth and depth of her achievements is a credit to her.”

The council will advise on future arrangements regarding the chief executive position at a later date.
