Macedon Ranges connected

Macedon Ranges is more connected than ever with the completion of two mobile infrastructure upgrades.

Throughout the state, over 850 mobile and broadband projects have been completed as part of the state government’s Connecting Victoria program, with the two Macedon Ranges projects being recently completed.

The projects boost connectivity in Mount Macedon, located at First Memorial Cross Loop Road and the second on Cameron Drive.

Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas welcomed the news for the Ranges.

“For too long I’ve heard from locals about connectivity issues across the Macedon Ranges, it’s fantastic to now have these projects completed to boost connectivity and coverage – helping people study, work and keep connected,” she said.

Government Services Minister Natalie Hutchins announced the completion of over two thirds of projects through the program, which aims to deliver 1300 mobile and broadband projects, with over 900 of these projects in regional Victoria.

“Connecting Victoria is all about making our state the best connected in Australia – and this latest milestone shows we are well on the way to achieving that goal,” she said.

“Over two million Victorian homes and businesses will benefit from Connecting Victoria’s projects, and with more than 850 mobile and internet projects completed across the state and with hundreds more on the way – this critical infrastructure will allow Victorians to stay connected with family, work and study.”

Over the last three months, more than 50 projects have been completed in regional Victoria, including 14 in Greater Bendigo, 13 in Greater Geelong, and nine in Ballarat.

One hundred mobile tower projects have been completed, as well as 200 mobile resilience projects finished, which will help make towers more resilient during national disasters with the installation of battery back-ups.
