Macedon Ranges Clean up Australia day events

Locals had lots of fun cleaning up Bullengarook for last year's Clean up Australia day.

Sunbury and Macedon Ranges communities will come together this Sunday to clean their beloved surroundings.

A number of meet-ups are scheduled across the region to observe the national community Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday, March 4.

Local group Bullengarook Landcare has organised several local projects, as it has done in previous years.

Bullengarook Landcare committee member Tracey Howell has encouraged more locals to join the cleaning efforts.

“Bullengarook Landcare will be involved again this year at a number of sites in the area such as the Recreation Reserve and roadside, and would love other groups in Bullengarook to get involved,” she said.

A group will meet at the Bullengarook Recreation Reserve recreation centre on Sunday, March 4 at 10am, while another group will meet at the corner of Fitzgerald and Montagne roads, Bullengarook at the same time to clean up Wombat Forest.

Other landcare groups taking part include Newham and District Landcare Group, which will meet at Newham Mechanics Hall on March 4 at 9.30am. Scouts groups are also leading the way – 2nd Woodend Scouts are convening at Woodend Children’s Park on Pyke Street on March 4 at 10am.
