Western Water customers in many Macedon Ranges towns may notice a slight change in their drinking water this month as the water supply reverts from a Melbourne system to a local supply.

Drinking water in Gisborne, New Gisborne, Gisborne South, Riddells Creek, Macedon and Mount Macedon will soon come from the Rosslynne Reservoir near Gisborne, instead of the Melbourne supply system.

During the cooler months, Western Water supplies water from the Melbourne supply system and in the summer months, the water supply is switched to the Rosslyne Reservoir to ensure a secure water supply for everyone, as customers being to use more water.

As a result of the water supply switch, some customers many notice a slight change to the taste and smell of their water. The water supplied will continue to meet the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines for health and safety.
