A Macedon Ranges woman will share her experience of helping women business leaders act on climate change at this year’s International Women’s Day breakfast in Melbourne.
Australian Women’s Network chief executive Francesca Thorne, of Gisborne, will be among the keynote speakers at Southbank next month.
Ms Thorne’s own business puts business women in touch with each other and provides resources and links to build better businesses.
“Through platforms like this breakfast, Australian Women’s Network is creating an invaluable avenue to allow women to build and enhance their business and referral networks,” Ms Thorne said.
“We are determined to harness and share the One Million Women campaign to our network … we create bone fide relationships with the sisterhood in a way that has never been done before in Australia.”
The One Million Women campaign aims to unite and empower women worldwide to act on climate change and bring forward initiatives in their communities.
Hundreds of women are expected to attend the March 8 breakfast to hear from well-known and respected speakers, including Annette Gillespie of Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre, Dr Jennifer Barham-Floreani, who is founder of Well Adjusted chiropractic centre, and Ludwina Dautovic, who has been an entrepreneur for more than two decades.
A cycling gold medallist from last year’s Rio Olympics, paralympian Carol Cooke will share her inspiring journey in sport and life.
