Local CFA members will again spend their public holiday on Friday door knocking and collecting for the Good Friday Appeal.
This Easter marks Macedon CFA brigade captain Greg Snart’s 21st time collecting and co-ordinating Macedon CFA’s contribution to the Royal Children’s Hospital fundraiser.
The Macedon resident said he had been very impressed during his personal experience with the hospital when his eldest daughter spent six weeks in the heart ward as a three-year-old.
“The staff in there are brilliant,” he said. “They’re great to deal with and they’re great with the kids.”
Mr Snart said the Macedon community had always given generously to the appeal and has asked residents to give again this year.
He has asked those who are not going to be home on Good Friday to leave a donation at their door for the CFA to pick up.
Macedon has raised $49,404 for the appeal since local fundraising began in 1996.
On Friday, collection tins for the appeal will be located at local supermarkets, pubs and service stations across the Macedon Ranges.
