Learning through the ages

Lincoln Romic will be following in the footsteps of his mum on January 31, when he attends his first day of prep at Killara Primary School.

Killara Primary School pupils will switch from holiday mode to school focus when they return to class along with thousands of youngsters across the country.

Having lived in Sunbury since the age of seven, Lincoln’s mother, Michelle, graduated from the Sunbury based school in 1999.

More recently she joined Killara as a teacher in 2010, and said she had no hesitation in sending her son her son to the same school.

“Since I finished [as a student] the school has had a gym added, a theatre, and more playgrounds,” Michelle said. “I have good memories of great teachers and lots of good friends.

“I’ve also been very happy as a staff member, so I knew I wanted him to come to Killara.”

She said Lincoln was looking forward to starting his school journey, and was particularly eager to check out the school’s lizard lounge.

“I just hope that he enjoys it, that he finds a love of learning, and is curious enough to try new things,” she said.
