Kyneton library will soon be able to start a new chapter thanks to a $150,000 grant.
The state government last week announced the grant to upgrade the library as part of it’s $4.5 million Living Libraries program.
Macedon Ranges MP Mary-Anne Thomas said the upgrade would be wonderful for the local community.
“Libraries are important places for our communities – they are hubs where we gather and run programs,” Ms Thomas said.
“Kyneton Library is quite a small space at the moment and an upgrade would open it up and make it more inviting.”
Local Government Minister Marlene Kairouz said the funding for Kyneton Library would help nurture life-long learning, health and wellbeing.
“The Living Libraries Infrastructure Program is about helping our libraries grow and adapt to support the needs of Victorian communities,” Ms Kairouz said.
“We’re making sure more libraries across Victoria have better facilities so more people can enjoy what their local library has to offer.”
The Living Libraries Infrastructure Program helps councils and regional libraries upgrade and adapt to meet the needs of expanding and growing communities.
