KFNC family fun day to thank Royal Children’s Hospital

Luke and Shanya Beattie are very grateful for the care given to their daughter Francesca by the Royal Children’s Hospital.

So much so that Luke, the senior football coach at the Kyneton Football Netball Club, and his family are organising a fun day as a way to give back to the hospital that took care of their fourth child.

When Francesca was just five months old, she spent 10 days at the RCH, including time in intensive care and an operation on her right hip for septic arthritis.

The youngster was diagnosed with likely haemorrhagic oedema of infancy and required a further three weeks of intravenous antibiotics and another two weeks of oral antibiotics at home.

Now 10 months old, Francesca has returned to being a happy, healthy baby.

Shanya said the family fun day would be “a way of thanking the amazing team at the RCH for all of their amazing care of the children in our community”.

The KFNC family fun day will be on Sunday, January 21, from 12.30-5.30pm at Kyneton Showgrounds, with highlights to include a jumping castle, face-painting, live music and food and drink. Entry will cost $5 or $10 for families.
