One of the best childcare workers in Victoria lives and works in Romsey.
Julie Galea has been named a regional winner in the 2017 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards, placing her in the running to be a national finalist.
Ms Galea was nominated for the award by parents of the children she cares for in her own home.
The family day care educator of 10 years said she was “stoked” to receive the award.
“I’m very humbled,” she said.
Ms Galea said she adored her job, particularly being with the kids, and being able to be a kid herself.
“It’s fantastic – I love doing what I do,” she said. “I love watching the kids grow and learn.
“I feel very privileged to have them in my home, they’re part of my family.”
The national finalists for the Family Day Care Australia’s 2017 awards will be announced later this month.
