Intense rainfall hits Sunbury and the Macedon Ranges

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning as intense rainfall lashed Sunbury and parts of the Macedon Ranges this morning.

Issued at 8.05am this morning, the warning included the Central, North Central, North East and West regions.

In the 60 minutes to 5.15am, Malmsbury recorded 56.2mm of rain.

Meanwhile Trentham Reservoir recorded 38.6mm in the hour to 6am.

An earlier warning included the Sunbury area. Calls for assistance in response to flooding have been recorded in Gisborne and Sunbury.
