Hunt for a new home

Romsey Men’s Shed is on the hunt for a home base and some new members.

Romsey Shed secretary Patrick Holt said that the group’s first mission is to secure a site for construction of a permanent building to house the Men’s Shed.

“Several sites have been considered and the group has submitted a formal expression of interest to locate in Romsey Park, next to the Scout Hall,” Mr Holt said.

“We encourage community suggestions for alternate sites that would be workable for the creation of the Romsey Men’s Shed, either short term or long term.”

The newest chapter to the Macedon Ranges formed earlier this year and hopes to attract fresh faces during national Men’s Shed Week which wraps up on September 30.

Men’s Shed Week is an annual event led by the Australian Men’s Shed Association to highlight the contributions of Men’s Sheds to their members’ health and wellbeing and to the wider community.

David Helmers, of Men’s Shed Australia, said men from all walks of life form very strong bonds within the shed – many of whom would not have crossed paths if not for their participation in the Men’s Shed community.
