A new meal delivery service is striving to help Woodend residents aged 50 and over to stay home during the coronavirus crisis.
The weekly service by GemLife will deliver more than 150 fresh, homemade meals to residents’ doorsteps.
GemLife chief executive Adrian Puljich said the initiative was developed as a special service for the resort’s residents to support them to stay home.
“The aim is to reduce the stress of trips to the supermarket and make social distancing a little bit easier. At the same time the initiative provides residents with delicious, nutritious meals to maintain optimal health – something that’s especially important right now,” he said.
“The entire world is going through incredible challenges and it’s so important we all support each other as best we can. This initiative is one way we can help ease stress and anxiety, plus contribute to the health and wellbeing of our over-50s’ residents.”
Each week, residents will receive a menu with three meal options, from which they can select two meals per person for delivery.
Paysanne Cafe chef, Thierry Bertalmio prepares the meals.
Mr Puljich said the response to the meal delivery service had been “fantastic”.
“The residents are excited to see what each week’s menu will have on offer,” he said.
