Macedon Ranges council is proposing to rename a section of Wills Street, between Walsh Street and Chisholm Avenue in Malmsbury to fix address numbering errors.
The change will make sure existing and future properties have accurate and consistent street numbers.
The proposed name is McCreery Court.
Council has worked with Malmsbury Historical Society to identify an opportunity to commemorate women who have made significant contributions to the Malmsbury community.
Council said the name McCreery acknowledges the significant roles that the McCreery women have played in the healthcare of the community for more than three decades.
The council is seeking feedback on the new name.
The community can have their say until17 November, with all feedback reviewed and considered by council before it finalises the proposed name with Geographic Names Victoria.
