Grants open for Men’s Sheds

Men’s Sheds across the Macedon Ranges are being encouraged to apply for the next round of state government funding.

Men’s Shed groups can submit an expression of interest for grants of up to $80,000, through the 2019-20 Men’s Shed Program.

The money can go towards construction of a new shed or replacing, extending or refurbishing an existing shed.

Across the Macedon Ranges, funding through the Men’s Shed Program has assisted with the development of sheds in Romsey, Kyneton and Trentham.

Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas said the grants could give men across the region the chance to contribute to their community and engage with other men in a healthy social environment.

“Having somewhere to go and spend time with other men makes a huge difference to men’s health and wellbeing,” she said.

“A Men’s Shed is a wonderful asset to the community.

“These sheds engage men from across the region so they have the chance to come together, share their skills and catch up with their mates.”

Expression of interest for the grants closes on Monday, April 29 at noon.
