Gisborne Vintage Machinery Society is inviting the community to join its 40th birthday celebrations on Sunday.
The society’s volunteers are hosting the annual steam rally and family fun day to celebrate four decades of preserving and restoring machinery in New Gisborne.
President Anthony Davis said the day was a wonderful opportunity for members to showcase the fruits of their voluntary efforts, and the friendship and companionship that the club offers.
“[It’s a chance to] Reminisce or perhaps show the younger generation what life was like pre-electricity, computers, internet and the like,” he said.
The event will showcase steam engines, vintage and classic cars and the society’s new indoor model train. The popular annual tractor pull will take place, featuring competitors from across Victoria. An animal farm, market stalls and food vendors will also join the party.
The rally and fun day will be on Sunday, May 20 from 9.30am-3pm at Steam Park, Webb Crescent, New Gisborne.
Entry costs $10 and under 16s are admitted free. Stall holder, exhibitor inquiries: 0400 087 896
