The Gisborne Toy Library is looking for new members up for some fun.
The toy library is a treasure trove of toys for families, with members able to borrow everything from building blocks, puzzles and sports equipment to trains, trucks and tricycles.
Toy library volunteer Kate Lamla said toy library membership was ideal for families, especially those short on storage space.
“Limited space in your house means you might not have room for a lot of toys, but the toy library means you can borrow toys for a short period of time,” she said.
“The toy library offers children a variety of toys, which is very important. Even from a young age, kids are looking for change and they get bored with toys very quickly.”
The library has been run by a not-for-profit community group for 30 years.
Ms Lamla said winter was an ideal time for families to join up, with memberships costing $25 for the rest of the year, with grandparent memberships costing $5.
The toy library is open every Saturday from 10-11am, the first Wednesday of the month from 10.30-11am and the third Tuesday of the month from 10-11am.
It’s at Manna Gum Family and Children’s Centre, 71 Robertson Street, Gisborne.
