You’re invited to go “behind the hedges” at one of Macedon Ranges finest gardens.
The Garden Lovers’ Fair is back for another year at the historic Bolobek estate.
Up to 2500 are expected to attend the Mount Macedon and District Horticulture Society’s two-day event this weekend.
Society member Jamie Bryon said this year’s fair will be one of the biggest since its establishment in 2003.
“It will feature more than 45 stallholders and there will be a mix of both new and the much-loved returning stallholders who have attended for many years,” he said.
“One of the biggest drawcards, I think, is the fact that the fair is held within the grounds of Bolobek which is one of Victoria’s most significant gardens. It’s also a rare opportunity to see behind the hedges of this beautiful garden that isn’t always open to the public.”
Gardening experts including Stephen Ryan and Karen Sutherland will share their knowledge across the weekend. There will also be garden tours and an animal farm for children.
“We’ve seen a significant increase in the number of young families that are making a day out and attending the fair,” Mr Bryon said.
Bolobek is at 370 Mount Macedon Road, Mount Macedon. The fair is on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6 from 10am-4pm both days. Cost $12 for adults or $20 for a weekend pass. Children under 15 years are admitted free.
