Free outdoor cinema evening in Sunbury

Families are being encouraged to make the most of summer evenings with a free outdoor cinema experience to take place in Sunbury on Saturday, February 17.

Face painting, bubbles, balloons and food vans will also be on offer at the Sunbury Village Green on Stawell Street before the the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast is screened.

Hume council is sponsoring the event as part of its Summer Sessions program.

Mayor Geoff Porter is encouraging locals to take the opportunity to spend time with family and friends at the free entertainment sessions.

“These free outdoor movies are a relaxed, fun and popular event for people of all ages, and a great way to get to know your neighbours,”
Cr Porter said.

“To make the most of this free outdoor movie experience, bring a blanket or chairs and your friends and family to enjoy the great entertainment.”

The activities and food stalls will be up and running from 5pm, with the movie to start at 8.30pm.

Cr Porter said the Summer Sessions were “just the beginning of Hume City council’s calendar of major events for 2018”.
