It’s bound to feel like Christmas has come early next week when the Gisborne Christmas Festival takes over Gardiner Reserve.

Promising fun for all ages, there will be a free jumping castle, animal farm, face-painting, hair braiding, sporting activities and even some free glitter tattoos.

Two local bands will perform throughout the night, and families are being encouraged to bring a picnic rug, sit back and enjoy what’s on offer at market and food stalls, coffee and ice cream vans.

If you’re into some hair-raising fun there’ll be carnival rides.

The annual Christmas parade will take place at 6.30pm, and fireworks will bring the celebrations to a close at 9.15pm.

The Gisborne Christmas Festival is being co-ordinated by the Gisborne and Districts Lions Club.

The festival will be held on Friday, December 8, from 4.30-9.30pm at Gardiner Reserve, Gisborne.
