An industrial fire broke out at Bulla tip this morning, but has been brought under control.
The Country Fire Authority (CFA) said there was a fire at a waste management facility on Sunbury Road at Bulla just after 5am today.
According to the CFA, the fire was about five metres wide by 10 metres in size and was burning in general tip rubbish.
“CFA and [Fire Rescue Victoria] firefighters were able to bring the fire under control by 7am. An advice message was issued to the local community due to smoke in the area,” CFA said.
CFA said excavators were being used to help pull apart the rubbish, with the scene declared safe at 7.41am and handed back to the tip operator to manage.
CFA had four trucks on scene supported by FRV crews.
