A former Sunbury Downs College student who went on to become a successful chef and real estate agent has returned to the halls of the Mitchells Lane school.
Leading Real Estate director Adam Sacco took a turn in the big chair as part of this year’s Principal for a Day initiative, which is aimed at enhancing links between business, community leaders and schools.
Mr Sacco, who left after finishing year 10 in 2003, made the most of the chance to share some important life lessons.
”School’s like anything else … it’s what you’re willing to make of it,” he told students.
Mr Sacco, who sold $46 million of property in the 12 months to August, took a keen interest in a maths class, drawing practical links to things crucial to his trade such as depreciation.
He also addressed staff, including some who were there when he left to begin a chef’s career which took him to the kitchens of several four and five-star restaurants.
”It was a real honour to see what the school is doing and it was great to catch up with plenty of familiar faces.”
