Marble madness will descend upon the Woodend library these school holidays.
The library will host Marble Mania – an event where children can learn how to make their own marbles from basic household items.
Library manager Lulu Cockram said Marble Mania was designed to encourage the use of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) concepts.
She said general items can be turned into marbles and marble ramps.
“Paper plates, really general household items and all craft things,” she said.
“Also, cut up milk containers, things out of the recycling bin. They’ll be able to guide the marbles through different coloured hoops.”
Ms Cockram said the event was also a great day for children to explore the library during the school holidays.
“In a town like Woodend, a lot of families would come to the library for hours, we have a heap of play spaces,” she said.
Marble Mania will be on Tuesday, October 1 between 10.30-11.30am at Woodend library, corner of High and Forest streets. The free event is suitable for children aged 5-9 years.
