Get ready to rumble – Premier Pro Wrestling is bringing its State Warfare show to Sunbury.
Among the fighters taking part will be Sunbury’s Jason Presley, who says he has always had a passion for wrestling.
“Early in life, I did 15 years of martial arts and I’ve always had a thing for fighting,” he said.
“But wrestling’s been the thing that I’ve loved ever since I was a kid.
“The superhero-type characters, the guys that can just go out and do unnatural things – it’s a great thing.”
Presley’s wrestler name, Jason “Krusher” Cole, was inspired by a move he worked on in training – but it also has a family connection.
“Cole is the last four letters of my sister’s name,” he said. “I feel like every time I walk out, I have a piece of family with me.”
As he travels around the nation participating in wrestling tournaments, Presley always regards fan interaction as a highlight.
“I had a match a little while ago, and I had a fan come up to me and say, they looked up to me,” he said. “To hear that, coming from a young child who can look up to someone on the Australian scene instead of the worldwide scene – I live for that.”
Premier Pro Wrestling’s State Warfare will be on Saturday, April 6, at Sunbury Memorial Hall, Stawell Street from 7pm.
