Sugar and spice and everything nice will be on display at an upcoming cake decorating seminar.

More than 10 demonstrators from across the globe will gather at the Australian National Cake Decorators Association seminar –including Sunbury cake decorator Leanne Wood.

“The … association has these seminars once every two years and each time a different state holds the seminar,” she said.

“The Cake Decorators Association of Victoria was chosen to hold it this time.”

Ms Wood, of Taylors Hill, decorates cakes at the association’s Sunbury branch.

She said there will be cake competitions, product demonstrations and workshops during the five-day seminar.

Ms Wood is no stranger to cake decorating, being in the industry for 20 years.

“When I was getting married, I made my own wedding cake, so I took lessons and I haven’t really looked back since,” she said.

She said she was looking forward to showcasing her work at the event.

“Being asked to demonstrate is a real honour,” she said. “Some of the 13 other demonstrators are very well known in the industry.

“I’ve got a lot to learn from them and I am honoured to be classed in the same category.”

The event will be on August 14-18 at Mantra Bell City, 215 Bell Street, Preston.

Registrations for the seminar are now open until July 15: bit.ly/2ElDYCX
