Homebaked goods and a cup of tea will be on the menu at St Andrew’s Uniting Church this weekend.

The Sunbury church will host its annual Biggest Morning Tea on Sunday and organiser Carole Simpson is inviting all to attend the charity fundraising event for the Cancer Council.

“The only thing better than a cup of tea is sharing a cuppa with loved ones and friends,” she said.

“Your generosity means more children will grow up with their parents [and] husbands will grow old with their wives.”

This year marks the ninth morning tea the church has hosted.

“Usually we get about 70 to 80 people,” Ms Simpson said.

“On the day, we talk about the Biggest Morning Tea, what the Cancer Council has done and how we can help people.

“Last year we raised more than $700 for the Cancer Council. Homebaked goods prove a hit at St Andrew’s Uniting Church.

“The effort was great … by all who helped and donated to the cause.”

The church’s Biggest Morning Tea is on Sunday, November 24 between 10.30-11.30am, St Andrew’s Uniting Church, 10-20 Barkly Street.
