Cupcake Day for RSPCA

RSPCA is calling on Victorians, including those in Sunbury and Macedon Ranges, to head to the kitchen and bake some dog-friendly cupcakes for the organisation’s Cupcake Day.

The charity is encouraging baking enthusiasts, workplaces, and schools across the state to host their own Cupcake Day fundraiser in September to support the RSPCA.

The day can be hosted by an individual or group on any date this month.

RSPCA Victoria events manager Kate Kasby said community support for Cupcake Day provides a boost to the charity’s operations.

“It doesn’t matter where you are or how good you are at baking – anyone can host a Cupcake Day this September and raise money to help animals in need,” Ms Kasby said.

“We had over 8,600 animals come through our shelters last year, with their care costing us millions. Unfortunately, RSPCA Victoria isn’t immune to the rising cost-of-living, and Cupcake Day is a fun and sweet way for the community to give animals in need across Victoria the love and care they deserve,” she said.

RSPCA Victoria ambassador and award-winning chef Pierrick Boyer said that he is excited to share his latest recipe for Cupcake Day 2024.

“I love to bake delicious cupcakes for my friends and family, so I had a lot of fun perfecting the right recipe that my furry friend could also enjoy,” Mr Boyer said.

“This recipe is the perfect human and dog-friendly treat for special occasions … like Cupcake Day.”
