Calls for safety improvements outside St Mary’s Primary School in Lancefield have been answered.
A school crossing is going to be built on Raglan Street, making it safer for pupils and parents to get to and from the school.
The $70,000 project will be funded as part of the $23.9 million that will be designated to improving road safety around Victorian schools in the 2018-19 state budget.
Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas last week announced the upgrade was on the state’s agenda.
“We’ve heard what parents at St Mary’s Primary School have had to say, now we’re investing in the crossing that this school community needs,” Ms Thomas said.
