Contribute to council’s nature strip policy

Macedon Ranges council is seeking feedback to form its Nature Strip Landscaping Policy.

The document will be used to outline what can and cannot be done on the roadside space, including guidelines interested to explore alternative grass options.

Council’s assets and operations director Shane Walden said this new round of feedback would build on the original policy which was developed two years ago.

“It’s important that we strike the right balance between adding to the appearance of streetscapes throughout the shire, and ensuring that any designs or treatments are safe for pedestrians and don’t damage our drainage network and essential services such as gas and water infrastructure,” Mr Walden said.
