Older Macedon Ranges residents, their families and carers are invited to learn about Commonwealth Home Support Programme and Village Connect (CHSPCV) services at a free information session on July 5.
To be held at the Gisborne Mechanics Hall, the session will explain more about the services and supports available locally, how they can be accessed and costs.
Council’s community director Maria Weiss said the CHSPCV services were vital in keeping the region’s older residents involved in the local community.
“We encourage older residents and their families to come along to this information session to find out what support is available in the shire to help them stay socially connected,” she said.
The program includes social support, to attend appointments, shopping, banking, community activities, assistance with technology and more, as well as respite care and connection to activities that support good mental and physical health and bringing older people together online.
Attend the session from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Tuesday, July 5 at the Gisborne Mechanics Hall, 8 Hamilton Street. The event is Covid-safe and free transport can be arranged.
