Brightly decorated floats, flash cars and an abundance of yellow daffodils heralded the spectacular end to one of Kyneton’s biggest community festivals on Sunday.

This year’s Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival concluded with a grand parade on Mollison Street and a family fair at the Mechanics Reserve.

Festival spokeswoman Marg Dearicott said the inclusion of several classic car clubs added extra shine to the parade, with rare Packards and MGs mixing with highland bands, kinders, schools and community groups.

Ms Dearicott said the 10-day festival had been a great success, with one-act plays at the renovated Bluestone Theatre, a community concert, and arts and antique shows among highlights.

She said nature had also been co-operative.

‘‘The daffodils have hung on nicely. We’ve had just enough cooler weather for them.’’
