The Sunbury Choral Association wants to take audiences on a journey through the decades with its latest show, Travel Into Musical Experience.
The two October 22 shows at Melton community hall will include a blend of musical theatre, comedy, original scriptwriting and variety acts set in a musical history museum.
Choir members Rick and Deb Sweeney will play Henry VIII and one of his wives respectively in one of the show’s sketches.
“People can expect a very entertaining and fun-filled show with different costumes to represent different eras and a bit of comedy thrown in,” Deb said.
“There are some great moments in the show so we’d encourage people to come and watch the story unfold as the museum takes you on a journey in song and costume throughout history.”
The choir’s 30 singers have been rehearsing for the past eight months for the annual variety show, written by Joseph Chapman and produced by musical director Gaby Crowley.
Chapman also wrote the Sunbury Choir Association’s last sell-out show,
We Will Remember Them, in commemoration of the Anzac centenary.
“The last show was really well received,” Deb said.
“We were meant to have two shows but the feedback was so positive from everyone that we are continually asked to perform versions of it again.”
Tickets for TIME cost from $20 and can be booked online at www.sunburychoral.asn.au.
