Check fire danger rating daily: CFA

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is urging Victorians to check the Fire Danger Rating every day as we enter further into the summer.

CFA north-west region community engagement co-ordinator Paul Tangey said the unpredictability of Australian fire season requires constant vigilance.

“Fires can start quickly and threaten homes and lives within minutes,” Mr Tangey said.

“You should never wait to receive an official warning before you leave. Fire Danger Ratings predict how a fire would behave if one started and should be your prompt to take action.”

The Fire Danger Period for Hume and the Macedon Ranges has been announced from tomorrow (December 20).
