Charges laid following fatal collision

Police have charged a driver following a fatal collision in Woodend on October 9.

Police said the collision between a cyclist and a car occurred on Black Forrest Drive about 11.50am.

“The 75-year-old cyclist, a Gisborne man, was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died,” police said.

“The driver of the car, a 19-year-old Fern Hill woman, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.

“She has been bailed to appear in Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on October 14.”
