Emergency service volunteers across the Macedon Ranges are set to benefit from the latest round of the state government’s Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP).
Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas welcomed the recipients of this year’s grants, which will deliver a range of upgrades to volunteers.
Hesket-Kerrie CFA will receive $445,000 for a medium tanker and Kyneton CFA will receive $71,000 for a Field Command Vehicle – XLT.
“This investment will make a real difference here in the Macedon electorate– delivering upgraded facilities, modern equipment and new vehicles so our volunteers can respond quickly and effectively during emergencies,” Ms Thomas said.
The state government said this year’s round was its largest ever, with over $30 million in grants awarded to CFAs, Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES), Life Saving Victoria, Volunteer Marine Search and Rescue and other emergency service organisations.
The annual grants program helps Victorian emergency service volunteer groups purchase essential equipment or make facility improvements so they can strengthen and support their vital work.
“These grants are incredibly popular every year, and we’ll keep backing our volunteers, helping them focus on what they do best – protecting lives and property,” Emergency Services Minister Vicki Ward said.
“With more funding on offer than ever before – almost double – we’re showing our determination to support our hardworking emergency services volunteers.”
