Macedon Ranges council are seeking nominations to celebrate older residents in the shire who have made significant contributions to the community.
To celebrate the Victorian Seniors Festival 2023, council will present ‘celebration boxes’ to 25 older residents.
Council is asking residents to nominate people who have made a positive difference in the community or been an inspiration.
Nominees will be considered on the basis of their contribution to the local community, how they demonstrate active ageing and promote a positive image of older people.
Examples may include contributions to community groups, family life or work, keeping mentally and physically active, making a difference to the environment, or even as volunteer champion.
Residents of the Macedon Ranges aged over 65 years old, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged over 50 years old, are eligible to be nominated.
Celebration boxes will be presented at an event on October 20, at the Kyneton Mechanics Institute.
Nominations close Sunday, October 1. Details: mrsc.vic.gov.au/Seniors-Festival
