Everyone is being encouraged to unearth their green thumbs this Sunday for National Tree Day.

Deep Creek Landcare Group invites residents to Lancefield’s Park Lane from 9-11.30am this Sunday, July 30, to help plant along the walking track.

The session will aim to increase the population of the threatened dianella species and enhance the walking track.

Gloves, tools, water and refreshments will be provided by the group.

Contact Robin Ford on 0428 315 846 to be a part of the morning in Lancefield.

In Kyneton, Campaspe River and Land Management Group is hosting a planting session from 10am-noon at the river end of Langley Street.

Locals can plant native indigenous trees and shrubs, including the rare and endangered hairy anchor plant, along the river bank.

The group will provide tools, equipment and refreshments, but participants need to bring their own gloves.

RSVP to Peter Harding on the event page at treeday.planetark.org for the Kyneton session.
