Sunbury craft folk have had their work cut out for them preparing for the upcoming CraftZone Expo and community connection day.
The Sunbury Craft Group is gearing up for its free expo this Thursday at Goonawarra Neighbourhood House, which is hoped will attract new members.
Organiser and long-time craft group member Fi Corboy said the expo will offer up plenty of creative ideas for anyone looking for something “a little different”.
“The expo will feature CraftZone stalls with items not normally available for purchase in Sunbury,” Ms Corboy says.
“The main focus will be on scrapbooking, die-cuts and card-making kits, at greatly reduced prices.”
She says the group will also be holding a food drive for the local food bank.
“We thought it would be a great opportunity to also support a local community organisation, such as SunRanges CareWorks, by encouraging patrons to bring with them some pantry items of canned or dry goods, in readiness for families during school holidays,” Ms Corboy says.
Non-perishable food items most needed include large cans of tuna, canned corn, rice, peanut butter, Vegemite, coffee, Milo and sugar.
The CraftZone Expo runs from noon until 3pm this Thursday. The craft group meets every Wednesday at Goonawarra Neighbourhood House 11am-1pm.
