Bulla fire under control

The grass fire at Loemans Road in Bulla has now been brought under control and the watch and act has been downgraded to an advice message to stay informed.

UPDATE 3.40PM

A watch and act has been issued for a five hectare grass fire at Loemans Road, Bulla that is not under control.

The grass fire is travelling from Loemans Road in a northerly direction towards Bulla according to the VicEmergency website.

“Don’t wait – if you are not prepared to stay, leaving now is the safest option. Conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay,” the alert said.

The Country Fire Authority said it responded to reports of a grassfire on Loemans Road at about 2.37pm on February 14. The CFA said the first had reportedly impacted a structure and is not yet under control, according to the Country Fire Authority.

“Twenty-four CFA units have responded and FRV [Fire Rescue Victoria] crews are supporting on scene,” the CFA said. “An aerial firefighting appliance has been dispatched to support ground crews.

“Crews on scene are battling a five-hectare grassfire moving in a northerly direction.

“The incident is still ongoing and crews are working to bring it under control.”

The grass fire is travelling from Loemans Road in a northerly direction towards Bulla according to the VicEmergency website.

“Don’t wait – if you are not prepared to stay, leaving now is the safest option. Conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay,” the alert said.

As of 2.54pm there were 25 vehicles responding.

On social media at 3.21pm, Bulla CFA said the fast moving grass fire was in the vicinity of Loemans Road and Bulla Diggers Rest Road.
