Homicide squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body in Gisborne last night.
The yet to be formally identified man was located at a Rodney Street property about 6.30pm.
A man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
The exact cause of the death is yet to be determined however it is being treated as suspicious.
