The Woodend Men’s Shed will be opening up its doors for the public for a fun day at the shed.
The open day will celebrate another year of mateship, activities and service at the shed, and will also coincide with the end of Men’s Shed Week.
Men’s Shed Week, held annually across Australia from September 8 to 13, celebrates the important roles sheds play in building healthy communities across Australia.
Men’s Sheds deliver programs and activities that foster community spirit, create social connections, and strengthen local networks.
They also bring together people of all backgrounds to work, share, learn and support each other, and the Woodend Men’s Shed is no different.
Loving to keep their hands busy, the men have been hard at work in the community, and are set to undertake one of their biggest projects to date, with the complete restoration of the heritage seats at the Mt Macedon Memorial Cross Reserve.
Other works completed include furniture repairs, nesting boxes and toys, all of which can be seen with the workshop on display and some for sale.
On the day, drop in for a chat, see where the men are hard at work and enjoy a cuppa and free sausage sizzle.
The open day will be held on Saturday, September 13 from 10am until 2pm at the Woodend Men’s Shed, 988 Blackforest Drive, Woodend.
If you can’t make it for the open day, be sure to stop by on any Monday or Wednesday between 9am and 12pm.
