Battle of the Bands has returned to the Macedon Ranges and will take place on Friday, July 28, from 5.30pm to 10.30pm.
The competition will be held at the Kyneton Town Hall, where the bands will battle it out for a $500 recording session and a $500 merch pack.
Macedon Ranges council director community Maria Weiss said the competition helps inspire creative and confidence.
“Battle of the Bands provides a fantastic opportunity for our local young musicians to experience what it is like to play live on stage in front of an enthusiastic audience,” Ms Weiss said.
“We know how hard it can be for new talent to break into the music industry. Battle of the Bands is one positive way that council helps to support our young people on their journey.
“The event inspires creativity and confidence in our young people, which is just so important for many aspects of their lives at this age.
“We get positive feedback each year from the artists involved and their families and friends.”
Food and drinks will also be available at the all ages event.
