Australia Day is just two weeks away and Harrison, 16 months, is already getting into the spirit of national celebrations.

Events are planned across the Macedon Ranges on January 26, with the council expecting a packed house at Kyneton town hall for the annual Australia Day awards and citizenship ceremony, starting at 10.30am.

In Gisborne, residents can sign up for Macedon Ranges Running Club’s fun run at Sankey Reserve.

Registrations for the free five-kilometre walk and run open at 7.30am, and participants are encouraged to wear Australian colours.

People looking for a more laid-back Australia day can head to Country Racing Victoria’s race day at Hanging Rock.

Gates open at 11am. Race day offers free children’s activities, live music, food stalls, a punters’ club and, of course, the running of the Hanging Rock Cup.
