Art classes and demonstrations in Mount Macedon this weekend

Gisborne artist Chieko Hester will be teaching locals how to make origami in Mount Macedon this Sunday.

Her origami workshop will be one of a range of classes and demonstrations running on Saturday, January 20 and Sunday, January 21 for The Gallery Mt Macedon’s open weekend.

Art enthusiasts of all ages can have a go at making mosaic jewellery, plant wreaths, origami, metal clay jewellery and at painting silk scarves and hanging spheres. The gallery’s talented tutors and artists will host six, two-hour long workshops, priced at $20 a person. The artists will also run demonstrations in art-making using paint, wood, felt, spinning fibres, glass and hot wax.

Entry to the gallery and viewing of the demonstrations will be free. Food and drinks can be purchased at the gallery.

Bookings for the workshops are essential.
