Applications for the Zonta Club of Kyneton’s 2023 Young Women in Public Affairs Award are now open, to encourage women to participate in public affairs.
The award recognises commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to the empowerment of women.
“Applicants are asked to reflect on their voluntary commitment to their school and to their community and the problems limiting the empowerment of women in their own country and worldwide,” the club said.
“The Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs Award Program looks to the young women of today to be the leaders of tomorrow.”
Part of Zonta International, the club stands up for women’s rights advocating for equality, education and an end to child marriage and gender-based violence. In the Macedon Ranges, Zonta gives local educational awards, supports women’s health initiatives and programs that advocate for the organisation’s goals more broadly.
Since 1997, the Zonta Club of Kyneton has recognised 21 awardees, with local recipients then eligible for the district award.
Applications are due by March 15, contact secretary@zontakyneton.org.au for application forms or further information.
