An Anzac Day dawn service will be held at Mount Macedon War Memorial Cross on April 25.

“I’m very excited that we can return to this spectacular setting for this year’s dawn service,” Mount Macedon Anzac Day dawn service committee chair Bruce Mildenhall said.

“It will be great for the community to rally around this iconic event once more.”

The commemorative event will this year pay tribute to Indigenous peoples who have supported soldiers, sailors and aviators across the world in various conflicts, a dawn service committee statement said.

The committee reminded attendees that private vehicles are not permitted to travel to the War Memorial Cross on the morning, and to book a seat on one of the buses that move people to and from the site.

Services operate from Gisborne, Woodend, Sunbury, Kyneton, Riddells Creek, Lancefield and Romsey with continuous shuttle buses from Macedon’s Tony Clarke Reserve from 4.15am, they said.

The committee also request that people dress for the weather and bring a water and a torch. While attendance is free, bring cash to purchase snacks or drinks.

Details will be soon be announced about a live stream of the service.
