An afternoon with Mark Wilson

Book in some time to meet an Australian author and illustrator at the Dromkeen Homestead.

Instead of the annual Litfest event that celebrates children’s literature, the Dromkeen Homestead will host author and illustrator Mark Wilson this month.

Dromkeen owner Bernadette Joiner said it was a bit tricky to plan a public event due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 restrictions.

“I also had to cancel last year’s Litfest,” she said.

“Rather than doing a Litfest, we’ll have Mark Wilson for an author afternoon doing a meet and greet.”

Mr Wilson will talk about his new books and the secrets about illustration ad picture book writing.

There will also be an exhibition featuring Mr Wilson’s recent picture books including Rachel’s War, Eureka!, Tupaia and A New Prayer for the Animals.

Despite not being able to go ahead with the Litfest event, Ms Joiner said she was looking forward to welcoming people back to Dromkeen.

“Having Mark in the gallery and having people able to come and meet him, it should be really exciting,” she said.

Mark Wilson will be at the Dromkeen Homestead, 1012 Gisborne-Kilmore Road, Riddells Creek on Saturday, March 27 between 11am-2pm. All ages are welcome.
