Andrew Crisp has been appointed as the next board chair of Ambulance Victoria.
Following a 45-year career in policing and emergency management, Mr Crisp joined the Ambulance Victoria board as a director in June last year, before his appointment as interim chief executive in August.
Mr Crisp will continue as interim chief executive until Monday, June 30 when Jordan Emery begins his tenure – joining from Ambulance Tasmania.
His appointment comes as Victoria’s hardworking paramedics continue to face high demand with more than 95,000 time critical ‘lights and sirens’ cases in the last quarter – equal to more than 1,000 cases every day and 31.8 per cent higher than pre-pandemic levels.
Ambulance Services Minister Mary-Anne Thomas said that Mr Crisp’s “deep understanding of emergency management, and his commitment to the workforce and community safety, will see him continue to play a significant role in the future of Ambulance Victoria.”
“His strong leadership has been critical in helping the service navigate a challenging period over the past 10 months – his passion and wealth of knowledge have been invaluable,” she said.
“We also send our sincere thanks to Shelly Park whose experience and passion have been instrumental during her time as board chair – I look forward to seeing the great work she will do in her new role at the Women’s.”
