Ambulance response times in the Macedon Ranges have become almost a minute faster, according to the latest data.
The latest quarterly performance data, for January to March, reveals ambulances arrived at the scene of emergencies 59 seconds quicker on average than the same time last year.
Ambulances arrived on average in 13 minutes and 21 seconds – an improvement on the 14 minutes and 20 seconds of the previous year.
Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas said she was delighted with the work paramedics undertook.
“We can thank our local hard-working paramedics, doctors, nurses and other health professionals for continuing to improve our health and emergency services,” she said.
“Our local ambulance services are transporting more urgent cases and our hospitals are treating more patients.”
For Hume, the data for January to March reveals ambulances arrived at the scene of emergencies nearly 30 seconds quicker on average than the same time last year.
Ambulances arrived on average in 10 minutes and 14 seconds – down from the 10 minutes and 41 seconds.
In the Macedon Ranges, ambulances responded to 487 Code 1 calls – up from 430.
In Hume, ambulances responded to 200 more Code 1 calls in January to March – up from 2688 in the previous year.
Across the state, 72,318 Code 1 calls were responded to in the quarter – 5705 more than in the same period last year.
