Macedon Ranges residents are gearing up to take part in a Victorian event dedicated to improving the lives of people living with Parkinson’s disease.

Locals living with Parkinson’s, their families, carers, friends and supporters will participate in Victoria’s A Walk in the Park in Federation Square on Sunday, August 27.

Members of Macedon Ranges’ own support network, The Lancefield & District Parkinson’s Support Group will be among them.

The group unites people living with Parkinson’s who live in the region. The members and their carers meet on the second Wednesday of the month from 1pm at Lancefield Bowling Club.

The meetings are free and a gold coin donation covers afternoon tea.

Group leader Kate McCormick said new members were always welcome. She can be contacted on 0448 445 694.

Anyone who would like to join A Walk in the Park can register at melbournewalkinthepark.org.au.
